The National Engineering and Construction Recruitment Exhibition (NECR), at the NEC, Birmingham on 11 & 12 May 2007, will offer a vast range of excellent career opportunities, with hundreds of superb roles for the thousands of experienced professionals and graduates expected to attend.

NECR, the largest engineering and construction recruitment event in the UK, offers visitors an exciting choice of opportunities with a wide variety of well-known and prestigious organisations. The positions on offer cover all areas of the industry from aerospace, automotive, mechanical, manufacturing, process and defence to construction, civil and structural engineering and facilities management.

Many leading employers will be actively recruiting at the two day exhibition including: Aker Kvaerner, Alstom, Amey, BAE Systems, Bechtel, E.ON UK, General Dynamics, GlaxoSmithKline, Honda, MW Kellogg, Schlumberger, Technip, Thales, Transport for London and Zurich.

Visitors will also find many valuable advisory services to help them in their job search. They can take advantage of: a Careers Advice Clinic; one-on-one advice at the CV Clinic to ensure their CV is designed to make maximum impact; and an Interview Clinic offering help with interview techniques.

The event also offers the chance to participate in and enjoy a series of enthralling presentations by various organisations and fascinating features that will inspire and help visitors in their career research and planning.

The Women in Engineering Forum is an opportunity to hear successful female engineers talking about their careers and to network with inspirational women and potential employers over a buffet lunch.

The forum has been specifically designed to encourage and assist women to discover the wealth of employment opportunities available in the engineering sector, and to offer practical advice on developing a successful career in this field. The forum is completely free. If you would like to attend, please contact alison.church@vmgl.com or 020 8394 5231.

In the University Challenge, teams from universities across the country will compete against each other to design, build and test their inventions in a challenging task. For those not taking part, even watching the teams in action is both educational and entertaining!

Jason Miller, Project Manager of the National Engineering & Construction Recruitment Exhibition, commented: “This exhibition provides an indispensable opportunity for those looking for their first step or those planning or researching their next career move to meet face-to-face with a large range of potential employers all together in one place. Add to this the many other helpful features and services available, a visit to NECR will be the most valuable and productive day of the year for many visitors.”
