Single-electron interference at Bologna

A series of images filmed directly from a TV monitor as the electron current density is increased (a-f): the integration time remains constant at 0.04 seconds. As there is only one electron in the apparatus at a given time, the figures show how an interference pattern can be built up from single-electron events. This can be seen more clearly in the film “Electron interference" (www.lamel.bo.cnr.it/educational/educational.html)
